happy easter

we had the pleasure of spending easter morning with some new friends. mason and caedan hunted eggs and played after we had a nice pancake breakfast.

seriously, teething.....?

my four month officially cut his first tooth last week. and has commenced biting his momma while he nurses.
this should be interesting

grandpa steve

i think one of my favorite parts of the trip was the last night we were there. my dad passed away almost nine years ago now, he was cremated and wanted to be put into the ocean. needless to say we have never gotten it together as a family to spread his ashes, but this trip my sisters & mom agreed to let me do it on my own. my boys & i went to the beach at sunset and put him into the water. it was a great experience, the water was so still and glassy. maybe now the fish will be plentiful off of the beach, he loved to fish. my dad lived his whole life pretty much on the gulf, its fitting that he be laid to rest there. afterward we took a nice walk on the beach and watched clams dig themselves back into the sand. we talked about how masons granpa steve was with god in heaven, mason asked if he was gods son. my child blows me away.

we had a fabulous time on our vacation last week. mason so enjoyed having his buddies isaac & elijah to play with everyday. the daddies got to fish & smoke stogies and the mommies got to do puzzles and even shopped sans children for a day.

mops

i attended my first "mops" meeting yesterday - mothers of presschoolers - for those that don't know. i feel very stay-at-home momish. it was really cool, very nice ladies. it is at a church in town. they meet twice a month and i think i am going to pencil that in on my oh so open schedule.
the "coffee moms" (as michelle calls us) have still been getting together weekly. it has been really good for me to connect with other women with children. a good friend reminded me several weeks ago that we are not meant to raise children on our own. it takes a village, and i definitley need all the help i can get. i really feel now not having all of my women family members here in town to share my journey with.
i'm still working it out with myself that being a mom is an acceptable profession, for now. for some reason there is still a part of me that can feel a tad useless, whats up with that.
that being said i really want to find some volunteer work that i can do, with the baby in tow, of course. ideas anyone??

voting

i feel like such an adult, i actually voted in the primary today. getting me to vote in an election is challenging period, let alone a primary. no caucusing for me though, didn't feel like dragging both of the kids out.

stephen

rolled over for the first time today. it was during a fit of frustration while laying on his play mat. he has also really found his feet and can put his toes in his mouth.
